Corrections Volunteer Application

Monroe County

Thank you for your interest in working with corrections.  In the link below, you will find the application to go into the Monroe County Jail as a volunteer.  Please complete the application and return it, along with a copy of your ID and any proof of Covid-19 vaccination.  You can return the information to corrections_committee@rochester-ny-aa.org or you can return it to Central Office and they will scan/send the information to the corrections committee chair.

Attendance at an orientation is also required as part of the application process.  The above documents (ID, Covid-19 Vax Record, Application) must be received prior to attending orientation.  Orientations are held periodically and announced by the Staff at the County Jail.  Please reach out to the Corrections Committee for the next scheduled orientation.

NEW YORK STATE

The Corrections Committee is looking for both male and female volunteers to take meetings into several State Correctional Facilities located 30-60 miles from Rochester. Most incarcerated members are unable to attend AA meetings without volunteers coming in and several facilities have no volunteer support at this time. No prior experience is needed - just willingness, commitment and your own experience, strength & hope. If interested in this important service work, please email or call Central Office (office1@rochester-ny-aa.org/585-232-6720). We will pass your contact information to a Corrections Committee member and they will contact you to go over the application and clearance process. The following forms are required:
